S6 - Hang Ten - Surf Inn

This was such a charming little spot in Netarts! Just a short drive (or walk!) from The Schooner and a 5 minute drive from the ocean! The apartment was clean and just as described. I felt at home and cared for. I’ll definitely be booking again!

This place fit the bill for our party of four for a quick overnight stay. It was just a short walk to the beach. There were also a few small markets nearby to pick up groceries. Room was small, but clean.

I enjoyed this place, and seemed to pay much less than the standard rate, maybe because of mid week stay.

My parents were staying at the RV park by the bay and this location was close so I join them. My only complaint was the lingering odor of crab or fish in the room. I don't know if that was due to previous visitors or just normal because the area is on the coast. Not enough to be unpleasant but still there.I would stay again. The code on the door was sent well in advance and lots of communication from the property owner for both checking in and checking out.Overall process for checking in and checking out was easy. I just forgot to "check out" online before 11 even though I had left the property by 530 am. This was my first time using Vrbo so some steps in the process had a learning curve, mostly just remembering what I needed to do.

Everything was tidy. All the basic needs were met. The location was quiet and close to town as well as beaches and fishing. The owners even got you covered if you forgot to bring your toothbrush!

Simple but worked well for a road trip up the coast. The hosts were super responsive when a lightbulb went out to get that replaced and got that fixed for us right away. Only wished there may have been a hot plate/pan/pot or something for more cooking options but that was on me for looking close enough on the amenities! Comfy bed and living space.

Was a cozy, convenient place to hang our hats for a night on our road trip down the 101. The bed was especially comfy! The walls between the units are a little thin, but we weren’t bothered too much by our neighbors, we were worried more about being a bother traveling with our infant son

Great value if you are coming for a quick stay! Overall was worth what I paid but I’d personally prefer somewhere that’s a bit cleaner. It’s probably because it’s pet friendly… Good communication and basic toiletries were appreciated as my stay was unexpected.

Nice spot that was well setup for an overnight stay. Conveniently located by a coffeeshop and a little market. The beach is a short walk away, with a staircase at the end of the road.

Great place to stay for a weekend getaway. Quick beach access less than 5 minutes walking distance. Dogs are allowed at the air bnb, and the nearby beach also allowed dogs. The place had dog covers offered for the furniture, and extra towels. They had extra toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body soap, make up wipes, shaving materials, and extra toothbrushes. The location is very convenient for the beach, its near cape lookout, and oceanside beach. There is a great convenience store (Bayside market & deli) next door. Bayside market had great indian food, and basic necessities. Overall great place to stay for the price!

Our stay was comfortable, clean and safe. We were right in the middle of the activities we were participating in. Crabbing, boating, and great restaurants. Easy check in, great communication from our host via text and email. The room looks like the listing.

Had a great stay with our pups - #6 was comfortable, clean, and with good amenities. Communication w/hosts was excellent and they were very responsive and offered great information with regard to check-in, chargers on location, amenities, and recommendations for local restaurants and sites.

This is an older motel that has had the insides spruced up, and seems to be aimed towards pet owners as there were 3 sets of pet sheets throughout the place. The space was clean and had all the amenties you need - I was glad to find a hair dryer. The barn door to the bedroom would not stay closed, I assume it was not properly leveled. The bathroom is quite small and shower head is very low - I am 5'4" and had to duck down to get my hair wet, but the water was hot and pressure was decent. I was woken up a few times by the folks' baby in the neighboring room, and there were times when we could feel their footsteps. Overall, it was fine for a one night stay.

We really enjoyed it. It’s small but quaint. Very close to the beach. We came from California and it was a breath of fresh air. Honestly, for the price, and being that close to the beach we were shocked. They keep the place up nicely. We really like the cleaner. He was awesome.

I was underwhelmed with this place, but it did what I needed, a place to crash. Would give 3.5 stars. The fan in the bathroom is very loud, I opted to use a flashlight instead. Also, as someone who travels alone, I did not feel very safe. There is no deadbolt, only a chain lock and the handle lock. Otherwise, this place was fine.

Loved the space, wish we had planned to make this our base camp and adventure from here. Next time we’ll stay longer!

Wonderful location with easy access to the sandy, Pacific coast beach. Easy check-in, and clear directions from our pro-active hosts. Close to Tillamook and enjoyed the fantastic tour at the Cheese Factory. Peaceful and relaxing location where we were able to get reinvigorated. These are enjoyable accommodations.

10 minutes or so from Tillamook and at first was a little leery of the community, but all was great. Be sure and see the lighthouse. Had a good meal at the Upstairs tavern. Everything was clean & nice. So much quieter and roomy than the motel chains.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bill And Peggy's property and it was truly an outstanding experience. Right from the moment I booked, they were exceptionally communicative, making sure I had all the information needed for a smooth check-in. The property itself was immaculate, even better than the photos suggest. It was evident that a lot of thought has gone into making sure guests have everything they need. The amenities were modern, the bed was super comfortable, and the living area was spacious and cozy. I particularly enjoyed the personal touches like the local guidebook and the snacks.

A great find that allows lots of rest and relaxation! We also found an excellent deli around the corner that is owned by an Indian family who makes homemade Indian food. Both my wife and I love Indian food so considered it quite the find! The room itself was clean and very pet-friendly (our dogs felt right at home). The hosts even offered poop bags, a pet furniture cover and a pet cleaning towel, items desperately needed by pet owners. ONLY thing that was the least bit bothersome was that we were sitting and enjoying our peaceful morning coffee and we got a text and email letting us know that housekeeping wanted to get an early start and to text when we were out of the room (this came through at 8:30am although check-out wasn't until 11:00am). As a result, we felt a bit rushed. Other than that, it was a good stay and I highly recommend!

I love that the place has the look and feel of a classic motor court. It is in a quiet and convenient location. The bed is comfortable. The parking lot has recently been redone. I would definitely stay here again.

Super cute surf themed motel with beautifully maintained, clean outdoor area. When we arrived, the blackberry bushes in the parking area were loaded with ripe berries. A nice, very Oregon activity picking berries in the lot! You can tell the area was recently renovated, and it looks great. Our room was immaculate, with very nice quality furniture and a large smart TV for night time movie hangs. Lots of travel essential items were provided in case you forgot something(razors, lotion, toothbrushes), which was appreciated. They even provided sheets to place over furniture to help with keeping dog hair off (we brought our golden retriever). Super comfy, quiet, clean and close to so much coastal activities! Less than 5 minutes of driving and you’re at the beach. We’d definitely stay here again!

This was an easy check-in with direct access to your room kind of motel. I appreciated that the hosts allowed us to have our dog with us and provided clean sheets and extra dog towels to protect furniture and floor. They were also quick to respond to questions if needed. The bedroom and living room were clean and for the most part the bathroom was okay clean despite its size. I would say there could be a little more attention to detail there; like wall surfaces and touch zones. Towels and sheets were clean. Had a great meal at The Schooner restaurant which was about a 9 min walk. Thank you!

Great little home base when you’re out exploring the coast!

4.5 stars from us! We liked the location the most about Surfs Inn. It was a close drive to stores and restaurants, a close drive to the beach. We lucked out and found a hidden little parking area by the Happy Camp area and it was a great spot to spend our mini getaway. The room itself was good, it had all the essentials for a two night stay. The kitchen was clean, the living room was tidy and had extra charging spots to make up for the lack of outlets around the room. They made the small space work for their guests.

We stayed for one night at Bill and Peggy's place in Netarts, OR. It is a very quaint location with a little marketplace walking distance from the inn. The local beach is not overly crowded and warm as well. Upon entering the home, the room smelled and looked clean. We had a great stay overall, the only possible thing I would say is that it can be a bit warm in here during the summer. The box fan the hosts provide was a must for us.

Wonderful little apartment style place, probably don't bring any more than 3 or 4 people though (or 2 people and some pets) as it's just a little cramped.

Surf’s Inn was a great stopping point for sleep on our tour of the Oregon Coast. The room was clean and quiet; mostly updated, but the bathroom needs improvement (low shower head, water damage in walls, dirty tile grout and floors). Overall a good place for a quick visit in Tillamook County. Bill and Peggy were wonderful hosts and responsive and accommodating when I mistakenly booked the wrong dates! Not a lot to do in the area, but the light house and beach on the bay were worth the visit!

Such a great find and value! Loved that the location was right by the local market that has everything you need. It’s also a short walk to the beach. The area is quiet. The place is more of a “motel,” and we really enjoyed the space and was a comfortable enough space for 3 adults, baby and dog. Hosts were proactive in communication and check-in /check-out was smooth sailing. We will definitely be back!

The Surf Inn is a nice pet friendly spot in Netarts. It's easy to find, within walking distance to the bay, and a short drive to the beach at Oceanside. The room was clean and had all the dishes and utensils we needed for some simple meals. The space is small and the bathroom is especially tiny with a little water damage in the shower but that didn't bother us. We would stay here again.

It was myself, partner, and dog, we all fit well in the space and it is just enough to lounge, snack, and rest in. The bathroom is quite small, but it was expected per the photo. The shower was ok but also a little small, not a lot of turn radius. Overall it was great and I would definitely stay here again! :)

Great, comfortable stay. The room is ideal for two people. There are plenty of amenities and it is a great place to relax. The beach is a short walk and it is only a short 10 min drive to downtown Tillamook.

Great place to stop by on our way down the coast! We used this as a first night stay out of Portland after visiting Tillamook State Forest and Cannon Beach.

Great little unit in Netarts, with great accessibility to surrounding beaches and Tillamook. Hosts were extremely communicative, even calling and emailing the day before about a road closure that would require a detour. The unit itself is tidy, clean and well-appointed, with a living/dining area, bedroom and bathroom. The shower is built for very small people - I'm 5'6 and had to duck to get my hair wet - and the pressure is only so-so, but that is my only minor quibble. There is a cute coffee shop across the street - currently offering window service only, but they have some cute gifts outside for sale as well. Overall, would stay here again if I'm in the area! Clean, quiet, safe and pleasant stay.

As a last minute location for me and my family this was a great find in a small community a 5 minute drive to the beach. they supplied many helpful soaps, silverware, tooth brush and things like that. the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the price was great.

Perfect little spot for a getaway. We loved how close we were to Tillamook but far enough away it wasn’t busy. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Bed frame was A little squeaky, but the bed comfortable nonetheless. There were several stores within a minute walk. The beach access was so close. We will likely stay here again. We loved how pet friendly this place was. It’s so hard to find these days.

Great place to land for the night. We loved exploring the surrounding area and beaches. Great detail to making you feel at home with even shaving cream, razors and toothbrushes in case you forgot it. We loved the large TV and microwave popcorn to curl up on the couch to after a long day on the road. Would definitely return if in the area again.

The Surf Inn was a great place to stay a night while visiting the coast. We were in the area for a day trip, and at the last minute decided to stay overnight — Bill was quick to accommodate us and very communicative. Getting into the room was very easy, and inside it was cozy and casual. I definitely caught the surf vibes 🤙 🏄🏻‍♀️ We were up early the next morning for coffee at the Current Cafe in Oceanside. Before checking out, we appreciated Bayside Market & Deli — just a walk away to pick up snacks for the road!

The hosts were lovely and I appreciated the flexible check-in time and the place did what it needed to do which was give me a place to sleep. That being said if I was left with one impression after my stay it would be that is place is SQUEEKY. Oh man... The door, the bed, the chair, and the floor. Even the slightest movement and the bed sounded like it was cursing me out for being on it. This might not be the case for every unit in the complex but it was for mine.

very nice place for a couple or a small family. only down side was the size of the shower. I'm 6 foot and the shower head cam just below my shoulders so I had to squat down a few times. other than that it was a great place with excellent TV choices.

We needed a place to sleep for the night and found it to be nearby. It was very well kept and clean. The entire process was easy and fast (got the reservation accepted and the check-in instructions with the keycode within minutes). It is very easy to get there too. The only downside is a small bathroom, but anyway we would definitely consider it again

The owners are simply so sweet and understanding. We were afraid it was still going to be flooded down in Tillamook during our stay and were wondering if we would even be able to get there. The owners looked up all the info of the road conditions and said they wanted us to feel safe. That made me feel extremely taken care of, as well as this place being EXTREMELY clean. I wanted to leave gratuity, but we did not carry cash. But I will remember next time because whomever does the cleaning does a fabulous job. Thank you for that! The energy here is really good. Right when you open the door you feel comfortable. I loved that. The location is remarkable. We love to Rockhound, so the 5 minute drive to short beach to find agates was great. So many great things about this place. I am glad we found it, and will be back for sure!! Thank you again so very much for a relaxing trip!

Nice play to stay on the coast

This is such a cute place nestled in Netarts — a 10 minute drive from the city of Tillamook which was our favorite city on the coast. Netarts is a hidden gem on the coast, non-touristy, and feels private. The air bnb is exactly as pictured, and we enjoyed having smart tv access for the chiller nights when things close relatively early (10PM). The bed was comfortable, and the host provided keurig coffee pods and microwave popcorn. My favorite surprise was bath and body works shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap provided in the bathroom. The bathroom shower head is extremely low — I’m 5’7” and had to duck to wash my hair, but it’s fantastic water pressure made up for that. Nice quick walk to the beach as soon as you arrive!

This is a nice remodeled motel room near the beach. There are small groceries nearby but Netarts is pretty removed from restaurants and other places. The beach is a few blocks away and very pretty. The living room was nice and the wi-fi worked well, the bed pretty comfortable. The bathroom is really small.

This was a perfect stop-over on the coast. We specifically wanted something close to Oregon Coastal Railway in Garibaldi and this was perfect. Great walk on the beach and location perfect if you wanted to explore Tillamook. Easy check-in/check-out. Bedding good. On the small side, but as a base to sleep it perfect.

Booked this place very last minute and it was perfect for what I needed. Small place but very well laid out to maximize the space. The beach that’s in walking distance was quiet, beautiful and peaceful. Check in was a breeze. I would stay here again if I was back in the area.

This place was so peaceful and relaxing we extended our stay another night! The hosts were very communicative and understanding! It was amazing. They also gave us lots of recommendations for walking shopping and eating locally. We had a great time.

This well-located motel provides easy self check-in. I stayed in Unit 6 and it was superbly and comfortably equipped including a dining table for two, dishes, silverware, microwave, and mini-fridge. You might want to know that the motel's reservation/communication process takes more work/study/reading than any typical motel or Airbnb at which I have ever stayed in my extensive travels. They require a detailed rental agreement which must be electronically signed/returned and the host sent me seven separate routine/programmed/impersonal emails for a one night stay.

This place was perfect for my son and I for a weekend away at the coast, our base while we traveled north and south on the highway to visit beaches and state parks.

I love this place it is amazing, it is close to everything, clean, comfy and I really enjoyed it.

What a great little place! It's basically what appears to be a mini motel but inside the unit seems more like a small apartment. There was oodles of room for my husband and I. The rooms were VERY clean, the bathroom/ kitchen amenities were outstanding(razors, toothbrushes, make up remover wipes, k-cups etc (in addition to all the "normal" stuff)! Talk about over and above! Not in direct view of the ocean but we could clearly hear it while standing outside. Very comfy bed. Very easy check in/ check out process. 100% would recommend!

Very clean, cute rooms! Lots of things you might need made a available. Very convenient location. Quick response when I needed to pay for my pet fee. Great pet area with doggy disposal station. Nice outdoor seating space. Well lit at night which made me feel safe traveling alone😊

Clean, quiet and easy. It was only a quick stop for us as we were traveling up the coast but we enjoyed our short stay. I would recommend this to anyone and will stay here again next time!

Good location, easy check in and a spacious room. The shower temperature fluctuated a bit as it was running but overall a good experience. Great to have the kitchenette area.

Cute little place, perfect for two. Five minute walk to the beach. Excellent communication. No real check in. Just a door code so “check-in” was very easy. Parking is basically right outside you door so getting your stuff in and was simple. Small bathroom, but it met our needs. Not a lot of restaurants close by. A convenience store right next door though. Would definitely stay there again.

Great find for our overnight get away with our teen son and two dogs. Super comfy beds, very clean and well appointed. Touch less checkin/out worked with no issues. Great communication via text from property owners.

Great little place on the beach. My wife and kids really enjoyed their two night stay that I booked them for a surprise getaway.

We loved staying in this stylish and convenient motel. The rooms were well appointed and included thoughtful touches like shaving cream, toothbrushes, and all the extras for morning coffee. This is a perfect place for a couple, though a bit crowded for a family with middle school children.

We love this spot. We will definitely be back for a longer stay in the future. Thanks so much

Good location very close to the beach and to stores. Nice little patio picnic area that we really enjoyed. Very happy that it’s dog friendly. Some of the sheets had some stains on them. The communication was excellent and check in process was easy.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and generally great value for money. Bill was great to communicate with and very helpful in resolving difficulties I had in receiving the check-in instructions and directions initially (all my fault for having an old email address registered with airbnb). The availability of netflix was most welcome in helping us unwind after the long drive. Shower room is small but nicely arranged and water pressure was strong for a great shower. Although not at all Bill's fault/responsibility, the only thing that let the stay at Netarts down for us was the large Trump 2020 flag flying on a private residence on the way into the town - possibly associated with a local bar/restaurant (Upstairs Tavern). As a gay man traveling with my partner this made us both feel very unwelcome and unsafe in the town. That being said we had a nice walk on the beach in the morning and along the river with our dog and did not experience any direct harassment etc. Perhaps it would be nice to see more symbols of love around the town to combat that negative symbol.

We booked Bill’s place last minute and for the value it was good for our family of 5. The decor was super cute and it was a short walk to the small grocery store. We appreciated the aromatherapy soap/shampoo/conditioner and extra amenities. If you’re sensitive to smell you may notice a scent (smoke/pets is my guess) in the bedroom and bathroom. There were blackout blinds on both windows which we appreciated since our littles are sensitive to light in the morning. This is within close vicinity to Cape Meares light house and an awesome trail to the beach. I highly recommend visiting the tide pools at Short Beach off Radar Rd just north.

This was a great little spot on the Tillamook coast. Perfect size for myself and my two friends for the night. I appreciated the little extras like the binder of local tips and recommended places to visit in the area, and the basket of coffee and popcorn. The inn is a 2 minute walk down to the beach - a typical Oregon coastline littered with driftwood, lush green trees, jutting rocks and the occasional fire pit for nighttime bonfires. We were very satisfied with the booking and would absolutely go back for a longer visit.

Surf Inn is in a great location in the friendly town of Netarts OR, near Tillamook. It is a short walk around the corner to a public access point on the bay. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, with amenities like a Keurig Coffee machine, welcome binder, huge TV, and extra towels. The bathroom is small, but for most people this will be no problem. The check-in process was easy with the keypad on the door. The parking is only steps away from the door, so it is easy to unload your car. Host Bill sent clear directions to the property and was available for questions. I visited in early March. I would stay here again.

It a great space near Tillamook and was an easy access towards Oceanside as well. Bill had plenty of information about things to do nearby which allowed us to explore more. We will definitely be back if we are in the area!

Great location and although it is small, worked perfectly as a weekend jumping off spot to Oceanside and the three capes area. Good TV and kuerig set up were nice touches.

This is a sleepy little quiet town that is a good place to relax. The walk to the beach was short but the venture down the stairs and drop off was not great for young kids. Wifi was fast and reliable allowed the kid to watch Netflix, amazon after a long day of playing in the sand. Food options are limited especially after 7:00, we did order food from the Schooner pricey, but very very good.

This is a cute, little 1bdrm unit. It seems that the property has been updated and it is quite modern. I was fully prepared to deal with the musty smells that are often common when staying at the coast, there was none of that happening here! I’d definitely stay here again. Don’t forget to visit the Bayside Market for some fresh, handmade samosas 🙂

Bill was great at communicating. We had no trouble finding the place or had any questions. The area is very out of the way, but if you’re looking for something remote and quite-it’s the place. There was no deadbolt, but there was a combination entry lock on the door. It’s a bit outdated(the bathroom), but they did a good job updating the rest of the space.
