T06 - Dory @ Trollers Lodge

We love staying here when we visit the coast from town, and we are always ready to come back again soon. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are tidy and cozy; we could go on and on. Thank you as always for a convenient and relaxing stay.

We enjoyed our stay overall. We got in late, and had some trouble with the keypad at first, mostly user error as there are 2 and we were using the wrong one at first. Leaving 4 stars instead of 5 because the amount of flies in our room was quite disgusting. My husband killed 14 horseflies in the one night we were there and there were still more flying around. We slept with the sheets over our head because the flies kept landing on us. I am pregnant so it’s already hard enough to sleep, so I woke up extra exhausted. An easy but impactful fix.

Easy flexible check in. Great communication from the hosts. Good driving distance from Lincoln city and Newport this stay was in the middle. Loved how cozy and homey the place felt. Would definitely stay here again.

Best sleep I’ve had in months! Warm nights at the coast in January are rare!! It was wonderful to sleep with the window open. This is the end unit. It was cozy for one person. The bed is in the corner so the person by the wall would have to crawl over or skooch off the end of the bed to go to the bathroom. The table is about the size of a large pizza. Very helpful cleaning crew. I left an item. They called and I was able to return. People walk their dogs on the road below the room so there was minimal barking. Very close to Depoe Bay. I would stay again!

this air bnb was sweet and cozy. we had fun experiencing the small area on the street right nearby and there was cute little ocean spots and benches to watch the tide at <3 quiet area, the space had lots of nice amenities for being such a little spot :3

This place was very clean and comfortable and had everything I might need for my stay. There is a partial but excellent view of the ocean from the sitting room window. Downtown Depoe Bay and several nice restaurants are a short walk away. I would happily stay here again.

Thank you for having a pet friendly place to stay! My fur baby 🐶 felt right at home. It was in walking distance to many great restaurants and only about 15 minutes away from Newport and other beaches & state parks we want to check out! The place was described just like the pictures. We stayed in the corner unit which was fantastic since this was our first outing at a different house with our pup. Parking was right at the front of the apartment which is great! We’ll definitely be back for a longer weekend soon & will recommend it to our friends and family! 🤩

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the toletries and bath towels. It was clean, small but very comfortable. It was very quiet and we slept well. Just what we wanted for our stay. We enjoyed walking the area, beautiful views, short walk into Depot Bay. We had activities planned in Newport so it was a short drive. I plan on staying in the future.

This is a good place to stay for an overnighter, which our situation was. Depoe Bay has wonderful ocean views and the occasional whale! Bill and Peggy’s place was very clean and well furnished. They have definitely put thought into it. A bit smaller than I anticipated but was good for one night. Very comfortable bed!

This was a very nice private area. It was compact which was more than enough for 2 people plus a small pet. There was a good amount of space for your pet to walk around and use the bathroom. The area is a bit far away (walking distance) to commresfast food restaurants as it's a small town but, if you come prepared with some food, the area is well worth it because of how ccalm and quiet it is. I would definitely stay here again.

All in all was a great bang for my buck in a quiet spot . Would def stay again !

Fun location. Clean and comfortable.

Exceeded my expectations. Had everything we needed and then some. We could hear the ocean from our room with the windows open, and could even see a little of the ocean. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and even though it looked as though all the surrounding units were booked, we never heard any sounds from other guests, it was very peaceful. The only thing I wish they had was a pocket or folding door between the bedroom and living room/kitchen, but it wasn’t a big deal.

I stayed at unit 6 which I would recommend if you like corner units meaning I got an extra window w natural lighting and best part— partial ocean view !! Very clean and many amenities such as toiletries. Excellent location, very walkable and close to ocean u can smell the salty water through your window! What a treat

The place was small, but everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again. It was easy to get into the apartment when we arrived and just as easy to check out. Our favorite part was being able to walk downtown in 5 minutes.

Adorable little place. The inside was well maintained and updated and the outside had cute vintage charm. There is a little Viewpoint down the block, and it's totally walkable to all the shops in Depot Bay. I was very pleased with this day and will be coming back again!

Great place to stay

This place was nothing short of phenomenal - while the view wasn't technically "ocean front," there was a view of the ocean from the living room and bedroom of the unit I stayed in, and you could hear the ocean waves. There was also a PERFECT secluded lookout point maybe 100 steps (or less) from the location, as well as multiple other scenic viewpoints within a 1-w minute walk. Being SO close to the harbor and bay where the resident whales come to live May-October was also a HUGE plus, as seeing the whales was my main priority for coming here. The property was clean and very well maintained, staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying here whenever I come to visit the coast!

Bill and Peggy’s place was an amazing place to stay if you’re ever in the area! The place was super homey and cozy and they had a lot of amenities that felt above and beyond. They communicated fully beforehand and provided a parking spot that was very easy to find. For my light sleepers lol, it was super quiet and dark!

It was very cute and a little small, but just right for two people. I felt extremely safe and would book again! Beautiful area to stay!

I was so thankful this little lodge accepted me and my 2 cats! I look forward to returning again. This property has great energy, and I slept like a baby in the comfy bed that had the softest,quality sheets.

We love this lodge! This was our second visit and we hope to come back again in the near future. The room is always clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches and clear instructions which make it easy to check in, make ourselves at home, and leave the place in good condition even with a sandy wet dog! The rates make it feasible for us to get away from Portland for the weekend and have a refreshing getaway. Thank you so much!

it's such a lovely place to stay a perfect little room for couples, you got your dining area with a kitchen and then you got a great bedroom area plus a nice bathroom and the bonus part that you are about 2 blocks away from the shops and restaurants. this is well recommended place I will be coming here again in the future.

The place was easy to find and to check in. Clean and everything as described in post. A little small, but we were not in room very much. Nice touches for pets to make it more accommodating. Easy walk to main street in Depoe Bay. Bill and Peggy responded quickly to my initial inquiries concerning pets.

The place was a great seaside bungalow. Depoe Bay is just a quick walk away. It was a great central location for my surfing trip.

Great place to stay and close everything.

What a great little place! They have considered all the needed amenities, best I’ve ever seen at an airBNB. They had good local coffee (not Folgers) and even had razors for use. It’s the little details that count. I wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy the benches on the patio!

Was worth the money and a nice stay. Place could use a few cosmetic updates such as recaulking of shower and a hole behind sink filled with foam insulation, but it was super clean and much nicer than the pictures I think. Had a partial ocean view and more than we needed in the kitchenette, although the toaster didn't seem to work. A little small, but still cozy and comfortable for a couples weekend getaway or single guest. Loved that they are pet friendly, but the furniture and linens was still pristinely clean. We never really interacted with our host the whole time we were there, but that's okay cause we like our peace and privacy. Plus our host was very responsive pre-arrival so I knew if I needed them I would be able to reach them. Anyway we enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future.

This was a fun little place for a 4 day, 3 night getaway. The price was VERY reasonable and was nearly spot-on to the description they have listed. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to stay in Depoe Bay. We had two adults, a Great Dane, and a miniature Aussie all in this single room rental and had just enough space for everyone (they are a dog friendly accommodation). We were about a 5 minute walk to the Depoe Bay Brewery at The Horn Public House which had some really good local brews and great food. Not to mention there’s about 15 or 20 shops in that same 5 minute walking area. More specifically about the room itself, it’s very “compact” so if you’re looking mostly just for a place to hit the hay then this is your spot. They do have a small kitchenette and cable tv/Wi-Fi, but definitely plan on spending you time outside the room. *We never found a dumpster to empty trash, and the bathroom door hinged in the middle which was weird. **BYO broom!

Hosts have done a wonderful job renovating the rooms. They are fresh and clean. So many little touches show a clever and thoughtful approach. It can be hit or miss at this price point and we were so happy with the accommodations. A fresh vibe was a plus

The front desk lady was extremely nice, and they let us check in an hour early! Place was cute and very clean. We had a wonderful stay. :)

We loved staying at the Pacific View Lodge. It was clean, simple, had just the right amenities, and comfortable. The coffee was pretty good too. I appreciated the reserved parking spot per cabin as it was very helpful arriving at night. The place was easy to find and very easy to get inside. We were looking for two queen beds, and there's some confusion with Airbnb. The room had an available pullout sofa bed which worked for what we needed. The sofa bed is small, for one person only, and will only accommodate someone who is 5'7" or shorter. The lodge was peaceful, staff was friendly, and it had an ocean view right from the picnic table. We would visit again!

Conveniently located off 101 in a quiet town. Great place to stop for the night if you're driving down the coast.

This was one of the cleanest and nicest Air BNBs we have stayed in, especially for the very reasonable price. Self check-in was seamless and straight forward, assigned parking spaces were sensibly located and clearly marked. Lots of small subtle touches inside felt very thoughtful, and made our stay pleasant and comfortable. (Spare toothbrushes and other hygiene items, a tray under the Keurig to catch accidental water spills from a mug when filling the tank, coverlets for the couch and bed to protect from dog hair without affecting comfort and normal use of furniture, etc) This was a real gem, and we look forward to staying here again on our next visit to the area.

What a welcoming little place! Lots of personal touches and creativity went into putting this place together. Please notice that it's really small! This was perfect for us, we're smaller people and it was very cozy on a blustery weekend. Room 6 is on the end of the building and there's an ocean view (through a few other houses across the street). We would totally go back. Very simple check-in and out. Love Depoe Bay!

Wonderful stay! We loved our time here. Super cute space. The internet is a bit spotty, so download any shows you may want to watch ahead of time. Also, bring eye covering for sleep as the outdoor lighting is bright and shines through the blinds. Overall, I highly recommend, especially considering the price. :)

This place is really cute and well-run by a couple who live on site. It's originally from the 30s and has that kind of charm with nice flower beds, etc. But it is completely remodeled inside the units, with what one would want/need for a few nights at the coast. Bill and his wife are super responsive, for example, when I asked if I could have a drip coffee maker he went and got one for me (the room came with the pod type). A+ for cleanliness, too.

Thank you for a lovely stay!! We stayed one night so we could whale watch and enjoy the beaches and coastline. We thought the bed was really comfortable, checkin was easy, and it was nice to have the extra toiletries and tea. Recommend!

Cute little place! Like a hobbit hut. Large, big, and tall folks probably wouldn't feel too comfortable here. We liked how it was small and cute. Walking distance to the main strip was very nice, especially for coffee in the morning. And whale watching afterwards. There was a lot of activity out there in the morning. Very dog friendly. A super plus. There a path up to a bench to watch the sun go down across the street. Very pleasant time.🐾😎🌅

This place was smaller than expected but worked great for one night. If you have any light sensitivity when sleeping make sure to pack an eye mask because the exterior outdoor lights shine through the blinds.

Wonderful communication on check in. Booked this last minute for a quick stop overnight while on a road trip. Made it easy for an in and out experience with 2 dogs. Provided sheets for the dogs to get on furniture which they appreciated.

The stay was perfect for our one night passing through. Coffee shops and water was within walking distance.

It’s a good place to sleep but not great to spend time in. It’s very small. It does not offer much of a beach view but the ocean is very close. This is not the owners fault at all as they did say no cooktop/oven in the description, but I did not plan ahead for that well.

I was more than thrilled with my stay and definitely got a "bang for my buck!" The location is fantastic, just a couple blocks up the road from the lively Depoe Bay waterfront. Our quarters were very clean, cozy, and parking was very close to our unit. It was very cozy, comfortable, and I was pleased with the quality! Recommend for a couple or 2-3 travels. I will definitely stay here again.

Adorable spot!

I was confused by the booking process. I asked for pet-friendly places in Waldport, Oregon. I booked this one and only after booking it did it tell me that the property was in Depot Bay (about 40 minutes North of Waldport). A great place to stay, but I wish there had been a better warning about the location.

This is a nice little motel second row from the ocean. Room 6 has lovely glimpses of the Pacific. Well appointed with cute art, very clean, close to town. We’ll definitely be back,

Loved this little get away! it has been updated some from the pictures. There is a nice little view from this unit. A very easy little walk to a wonderful view of the ocean. The only downside we had was the bed was fairly uncomfortable for my boyfriend who has a bad back.

This little place is an older motel fixed up nicely. Easy to find and close to ocean. It was raining the whole time so we didn’t get to use anything outside. The place was clean. They had nice items in bathroom people tend to forget. The bed was ok. The heater didn’t work too good it blows hot then cold which was weird. Had a little kitchen area with fridge and microwave. We had a tv issue and they came over right away to help us. The price for the room was good. Appreciate the place.

The location is excellent with being able to hear the ocean from the room. The room is as-advertised: cozy and it has everything you'll need. Bill was quick to respond to my communications which helped speed things along. A couple small things: (1) The airBnB listing wasn't clear that there was a pet/dog fee. Thankfully we read through the full document that Bill sent us, and I was able to ask about the pet fee. This seems like an artifact of a pre-airBnB establishment being cobbled into our new airBnB existence. (2) Had some noisy neighbors. Nothing that was anything more than a distraction... but it's worth noting that neighbors can be heard. If you are a light sleeper and happen to have noisy neighbors, you might want some ear plugs to sleep. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a place in Depot Bay. Easy. Accurate. Would happily stay again!

Beautiful town, beautiful little unit, very clean, and nice folks. Quiet at night, but the lights in the outside did seep inside. From our room we could see a little of the ocean, but you could see the most beautiful view from a short walk or drive.

The Dory was fantastic, super clean when I arrived and within walking distance of the marina, bridge, and shops. Easy check-in and check-out. Had to ask for the wifi password through Airbnb but Bill was very quick to respond.

Bill’s spot is great! Simple straightforward rooms. Location is everything with this one.

We stayed in unit #6--- it's on the corner with a view over the rooftops of the ocean. The space has a cute sitting area/kitchenette. They have silverware and glassware only. The bed was VERY comfortable! The bathroom is small and if you're a tall or larger individual, you may have trouble sitting on the toilet. They have great towels, comfortable sheets, two TVs, Bath and Body Works shampoo/conditioner/soap and even toiletries in case you forgot something. Pet friendly too!

My sister and I stayed there for a fishing trip and it was great. Bed is comfy, the space is utilized well, and it was nice being about to hear the ocean at night. You could hear the neighbors a bit, but that’s to be expected. I didn’t ever see the host, but that’s one thing I really like- having a bit more autonomy. Ultimately, I would definitely stay there again.

Troller's Lodge is a cozy place for a weekend getaway. It is within walking distance to all of Depoe Bay's attractions, and the grounds are well cared for. I look forward to visiting again. Thanks Bill!

My wife and I stayed here (unit 06) and it was CUTE! Loved the decorative details of the place. Perfect for two and the location was nice, a 5 minute walk the beach.

We stayed here twice within two weeks and booked a 2nd stay almost as soon as we got back from the first trip because we enjoyed our first stay so much. Communication with Bill was great-- he was very responsive to things we needed. We appreciate the cleanliness and thoughtfulness paid to putting the room together, and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet we experienced both times. We'll definitely keep coming back!

I had a great stay! Perfect for myself and two gorges. Thoughtful touches and they’ve made some stylish updates. Great location as well.

Few minutes walk from the habor and whale watching center, right off 101 for convenience. The room is small but very cozy and furnished with a couch and small dining table, which is great for takeout food. Great place to stay.

Cute li’l joint in a cute li’l spot! Kind of old school mom ‘n’ pop vibes, generous extras (razors, shaving cream, AND makeup wipes!?). Like a little apartment perched on a hill. Not really a beach destination in terms of Depoe Bay specifically but just up the road from one of my favorite stretches of sand. All dining except takeout was shut bc of the pandemic so I was really glad to have A little kitchen and easy-to-use TV. Also lovely outdoor options to hang out with your morning coffee in the drizzle.

Lots of thoughtful little touches, cute place, very cozy, great location. Appreciated easily cleanable floors and sheet to put over furniture so I could feel relaxed about having my (wet) dog with me. She loved it too!

This room was a bit smaller than I expected but it was nice to have the kitchenette area. Good location and easy check in.

Worthwhile experience around a beautiful location

These small, but clean units are close enough to downtown Depoe Bay to walk. We walked to the harbor several times to watch the whales or grab a to-go meal. The furnishings aren't luxurious, but everything we needed was included. The kitchenette was well-stocked with plates, silverware, etc. Just a note: In our unit, there was no door between the living space and the bedroom, which wasn't obvious in the photos. In these days of work/school from home, that was an issue for us because we had assumed one of us could be in an online meeting in the bedroom (with the door closed) while the other was able to watch tv or otherwise make noise in the living area.

Great little spot to stay when visiting Depoe Bay! Very clean and within walking distance to all of the shops downtown. Very cute and perfect for one or two people. I so enjoyed my time here and plan on staying here when I visit next!

Great location

This is perfect for a two person getaway! It was nicer than the photos because they did some updating such as adding a Keurig coffee machine. We were pleasantly surprised and had a fantastic trip. Highly recommended!

Had a great stay, property is a short walk to the Depoe Bay scenic view area. The unit was clean, loved the bath and body works stress relief lotion, soap and shampoo/conditioner 💕 I would stay here again

This is a great little spot! It’s easy to find and just what I was hoping for - a comfy, quiet place by the ocean to relax. Peggy and Bill respond right away if you have questions/concerns. I was so happy to relax in this spot after a long day of driving. Highly recommend!!

Great deal! Clean space

This was the perfect spot for an overnight stay at Depoe Bay. From the little things like extra toothbrushes and shampoo to the overall room, we fell in love right away. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

Very quiet, comfortable bed and very clean.

A charming cottage with so many thoughtful extras in case you forgot something. Even though it appeared to be at full occupancy it was very quiet and private. Bill and Peggy provided such great correspondence regarding the details of our trip and were so willing to accommodate us for early check in due to some plans we had. A great find!

Staying at Bill's place was very nice. Very close to the water, walking distance to many lookouts and restaurants. I was very impressed that Bill was able to answer any confusion or questions that I had in a very prompt manner.
