T09 - Lighthouse @ Trollers Lodge

Overall I liked staying here. The location was great. It’s a bit scary to walk down but if you do, it’s only a 3 min walk to the shops and the whale watching. The hosts were super great with communication. The only thing was that when we arrived to the room it had a smell of cigarettes inside the room.

I enjoyed my stay at Peg and Bill’s place. It was just as the picture depicted. They were on site while I was there, and very welcoming. I will stay there again and recommend their locations to anyone who will listen.

Bill and Peggy were truly amazing. So sweet and very responsive and recommended nice places to get a good view. Very affordable and good value for ocean views

Very nice stay! The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The location was beautiful and walking distance from the main Depoe Bay area which was great. The restaurant recommendations from Bill and Peggy were appreciated. The instructions provided made for a stress free stay. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a wonderful coast trip!

the place was perfect as a spot to rest up between all the hikes. While small, it had everything needed and I did not have any issues at all. Highly recommend, especially if you like having an ocean view as you sip on your morning coffee

Perfect room if you are in town for a night or two, bed was very comfortable. I’m fairly large so the shower is a bit small but certainly not a huge issue. I will rent again.

We loved this property, but we will never stay here again. Everything was great except when we tried to sleep. The walls were so thin that we could hear the people in the room next to us and above us.

I enjoyed the rustic feel. Yes, the bathroom is small, but after dealing with a tiny RV bathroom, I'm not complaining! The space is used well and very nicely decorated; charming.

Great stay with a lovely view

Trollers Lodge room 9 was quaint and cozy with a beautiful sunset view. Easy to access, and with all the simple essentials we needed during our stay (mini fridge, coffee maker, king bed, etc). The bed was comfortable and had ample pillows. We generally loved our stay and would have loved to make it a regular for our trips to the coast. Though cozy, be warned that you can hear your surrounding neighbors as though they are in the room with you. But most of all, what keeps this incredibly cute place from five stars for us was the feeling of unease when noticing the car parked at the private residence, presumably the proprietor, was covered in right wing and trump bumper stickers. Though, from what we saw, queer and people of color appear to be a large part of who stays here and keeps the lights on, we may not, in fact, be welcome.

Place had a little walk to an amazing view and was easily accessible this is my 2nd time staying here and will definitely be coming again.

This is my second time staying it's always very nice and pretty good rooms to stay in pretty quite and a lovely view of the beach. It's a pretty small walk to the main area for food and the shops i well Recommended this place to anyone.

Perfect little place!

this was exactly what we needed for a cozy weekend at the coast! I loved being able to see the ocean from the window and the bed was super comfy!

Cute little place, it was a nice place to stop and stay. The only thing was the walls were thin and you could hear everything. I don’t think people were necessarily loud either. We were able to hear the conversations next door and their tv.

pretty cool little motel type place. quirky but clean and quaint. very nice of them to leave out some furniture coverings so our dogs didnt get hair on the chairs. all in all a great experience and i will be back.

My son and I had a wonderful stay here. We only stayed for one night. We enjoyed the small but cozy space and all the little details like plenty of fresh towels, popcorn, and coffee, and shampoo and conditioner and even a hairdryer. Wonderful place! We would happily stay here again on our next visit to the coast.

The room was great.The bed was extremely comfortable, the toilet tree amenities that were provided were above and beyond. I would recommend to those who don't need a kitchen, they do have a grill that I did use.

My travel cat Chip and I really enjoyed the views from our room. The song birds by the feeders were entertaining for him and beautiful to hear. We walked the neighborhood and everyone was kind and welcoming. I would definitely stay again.

We were given a sheet and a towel for our dog. That was wonderful. Room was a bit small but worked fine.

Such a great place to stay! I feel lucky to have found it last minute. First off, Bill & Peggy were super responsive and offered me an early check in. They gave me great recommendations and were the kindest hosts. I had my dog with me and they went above and beyond to think about little things like a sheet to cover the bed and a towel for his potentially wet paws. Their place was walkable which I loved. I never had to take my car anywhere. Isn’t right down the street and watched whales and the sunset. Depoe Bay is the sweetest hidden gem of a town and I can’t wait to return. I will definitely stay here again.

Very nice bnb room to stay at while visiting the magnificent Oregon coast and the town of Depoe Bay. This is a very popular tourist area in season--we were there at the very beginning of the early shoulder season. The airbnb inside and out was updated and nice. We would definitely go there again.

Great little cottage less than 10 minutes walk from restaurants and shops in Depot Bay. Bed and shower were both pretty good. We knew going in the room was small, but they still made the most of the space and it was very cozy! =)

Our room (#9) was clean and cozy. The King size bed takes up about 70% of the living space, but all we really needed was a place to sleep after the show at the casino, so it was perfect for our needs. Would not recommend if you have any young kids or need more space.

They were very accommodating with scheduling changes. The room and location was great. The bathroom was much smaller than expected. Good trip and value overall.

Great lodge, a few additional steps to check in after booking, as this is set up like a motel, but it was worth it and a nice place. Well kept, lots of amenities and extras inside (shampoo, lotion, coffee, etc). I appreciate the local recommendations and emails. Check in and using the door code was super easy, and great to have a parking spot right out front. Wonderful place to stay in Depoe Bay, we were only passing through for the night but would return.

It was a very small unit but very quiet, with only the sound of the ocean waves...very soothing at night! Our needs were met for one night but would have been limiting for a longer stay. Clean and comfortable and Bill & Peggy were relaxed about our late checkin time. A beautiful setting with a peekaboo view of the ocean.

Room was clean. It's in a row of rooms, so you can hear the people next door, a bit. The hosts provide disposable toothbrushes and some other amenities, which is a nice touch. We would stay again.

I enjoyed the stay. Peggy was super responsive whenever I reached out. It was really close to the water and right off the PCH. There are no beaches with sand in area but it's very beautiful no less. I will say the shower is tiny. I'm pretty small and it felt tight for me (maybe 3x3). Peggy and her crew were very friendly, supportive, and kind. That by itself would make me return to this space.

Great people. They gave me a jump for my car that wasn’t starting and let me keep the cables bc I didn’t have mine with me.

Beautiful room. Loved leaving the window open to hear the ocean and especially the bell on the buoys. Super big bed. Bathroom super clean. It is tight in the bathroom so if you are a bigger person, you wouldn’t want to choose this place. Loved to sit on the bench outside the room to relax. Walked down a couple streets to get a clear view of the ocean. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful but tiny rooms

We enjoyed the clean room so much. The bed was very comfortable to sleep in. Easy to get into and like home. Designated parking was nice. Beautiful hosts.

Mycket trevligt ställe med fina rum och ljuvliga sängar. Det fanns omtanke i servicen och en riktig kaffebryggare med fantastiskt kaffe. Godaste kaffet som vi druckit under vår resa. Tipsade om restauranger, och vi har ätit den godaste middagen under vår resa på restaurang Tidal Raves.

Great place for a one night getaway

The outside touches were so cute, it felt so homey and cozy. Very clean and close to the beach.

Great little place and location for such a reasonable price! Beautiful view and area for walking around Depot Bay. Recommend Sasquatch coffee shop for early morning coffee and muffins as well. Short walk and great views of the ocean from their front patio!

not many places allow dogs. I was very grateful to be able to explore the area and have my pets with me. we enjoyed the restaurant recommendations and explored the area. The room is smaller than it looks but worked well for our stay.

Our fishing trip was canceled and moved to another day. Peggy graciously found us another location. The original had a kitchen and more space but was booked the days we needed so she got us into this space. Unfortunately it was too small and didn't have a freezer (like the original) so we ended up finding a new place that did with the understanding we would lose our money per policy. Peggy refunded the full amount anyway. Very sweet of them. The room is quaint, quiet and has a ocean view for someone who is looking for a place to crash.

Wonderful location in the heart of Depoe Bay with obstructed views of the Pacific Ocean from the unit. Walls are thin between units, as we heard someone snoring in the adjacent unit throughout the entire night. Small space, but a nice simple space for two people to spend a couple of nights with a comfortable king bed and good quality sheets and bedding. There was also a noticeable musty smell upon initial entrance.

Our stay at Bill and Peggy's Lodge at Depoe Bay was very pleasant. Check in was easy, they communicated well with us and we really enjoyed it. We'll definitely stay again with them.

This was the perfect spot to stay in Depoe bay. Walking distance to restaurants and downtown. Can see the ocean from location. Clean, just the right size for our family of three. Would definitely stay here again. Didn’t have our dog but I love that they are dog friendly.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Trollers Lodge! My room was cozy with charm! I felt very comfortable and accommodated. I was impressed by all the toiletries that were provided. It’s all in the details! There was even popcorn for popping! The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. I look forward to staying at the Trollers Lodge in the future! Gold bless!

The lodging was exactly as described : well located , clean, cosy. Our room was facing the ocean so we could hear the rolling waves. it was so relaxing. Our hosts were efficient and pleasant. We really enjoyed our day in Depoe Bay, one of the best of our trip in Oregon. we would have liked staying longer.

This is a gem of a place to stay. It is affordable and has the nicest, most comfortable bed I have slept in on this trip (2 weeks) Unfortunately, we were only able to spend a night, but if I can return, then this will be a great place to stay. Highly recommend many times over!

This property is in a great location—very hard to beat. Our hosts communicated clearly and proactively, which made check-in and checkout a breeze. Instructions were spot-on, and they’re friendly and responsive. We couldn’t have asked more from the hosts.

Great location for Depoe Bay with view. We got unit 9; parking was easy and very nice to have. It was much more quiet than expected at night; great neighborhood. Bed was great (king), fan worked well. The pics look as they are. However, place was much smaller than it looked and older. It might be ok for a night or two max, but not 5 days. Hard to do remote work BUT the AT&T reception was GREAT and no issues with Wi-Fi. They do have all the supplies you’d need. Again though toilet and shower was tiny and very hard to get the shower a consistent temp - it kept changing; knob may need replacement. Toilet kinda moves when you sit on it. It’s definitely something to book for a night or two and we noticed a lot of travelers did stay there for a night only. We had to be there for multiple nights and thought this would be ok. The other units may be bigger- but this one is so small. Will check better next time. You are paying for prime downtown Depoe Bay location and this area is pricey.

Pacific View Lodging is a small place, but meticulously designed and decorated. Everything possibly needed was included. It was a comfortable and convenient lodging.

Great place with a great view. If you happen toget a room without a view, you are a short walk from some of the best coastline I've seen on the PCH. Well worth it.

Fairly small, but comfortable. Perfect for two people. Probably not ideal if you’re going to be inside all day, but it works as a place to sleep and rest. Nice area, easy walk to the rest of Depoe Bay with good oceans views nearby on foot. It’s great for a short getaway. Can’t complain with the price that is charged.

Great location, near town and many scenic viewpoints. Cozy and nicely decorated. Comfortable bed. Walls are very thin and I could hear my neighbors. My main complaint is the overwhelming smell of cleaner trying to cover up old smoke smell. I’m guessing at one point people were allowed to smoke here and that smell doesn’t go away no matter how much cleaner you use. Also there was a mold/mildew smell in the bathroom. It took me about 5 minutes to get hot water from the shower and it kept going from way too cold to way too hot. Finally got it evened out. Regardless of these things I still enjoyed my stay. Thank you

We very much enjoyed our stay at Troller's Lodge very much. A few small things, mainly the bathroom was TINY. as in, you can sit on the toilet and wash your hands and turn the shower on all at the same time tiny. It is a little bit dated, but it IS a "retro" kind of motel, so that was to be expected, if you want a 5 star resort place this is not the one. The shower was extremely small, and for some reason the water temperature would not stay consistently hot or cold, but the pressure was good. The bed was very very comfortable, and my husband loved having the small pedestal fan on the dresser that he could point at his side of the bed. If you are looking for a cozy, quiet, and very comfortable place to stay, this is absolutely an ideal location and a very enjoyable place to stay. The little details they add in, like toiletries you might have forgotten (razor, toothbrush, etc) to having a nice coffee selection (keurig machine) and even microwave popcorn was nice. We had our dogs with us and they provided an extra sheet for covering the linens or furniture to help protect from the fur, which was a nice touch. We did get a chance to chat a little with Bill and he is very friendly and welcoming and made us feel very much at home and welcomed to return any time.

Hosts are quick to respond and willing to accommodate. Thank you for bringing down utensils. I've never stayed at an arbnb that did not have a full kitchenette of some type. Smaller than expected (bedroom and bathroom). Ocean view extremely limited, but loved the ability to walk down to the main blocks of shops, excursions and restaurants.

Great central location—walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. Whale watching within a few steps! Very comfortable bed and good TV for chilling after a day's exploration. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Excellent communication prior to our stay. Very clean, darling seascape decor, abundance of amenities, high quality bedding and towels. Our unit’s bathroom had very nice decor but was tiny. King bed had nice support, however, a little lumpy. Three different ocean views around lower homes. Grounds very well kept.

Trollers lodge is ideally located close to Depoe Bays shops and restaurants, with a small bit of ocean view. The decor is a bit outdated in a charming way. However, the room was very small - you can't properly open a standard suitcase anywhere in the room except on the bed. The walls are really thin, be sure to bring earplugs as you'll literally hear every word of your neighbour's conversation. The whales and harbour seals made up for some of that, but we weren't as comfortable as we would have liked.

Best value on the Oregon coast. They have shaving cream, razors, shampoo, conditioner, and coffee. It is a small spot but is perfect for a couple with a dog. We highly recommend this spot!

This is a nice little place. We wanted a room for the night while we were exploring the coast and it was great for that. It isn’t a resort or a fancy suite, and it’s pretty small, but it has everything you need and a few little extras and a nice price tag too 🙂

We try and stay here every time we go to the beach. We love this place.

Location is good; neighborhood is a pleasant walk. Walls are thin...you can anticipate neighbor noise inside the room, even at normal speaking volumes.

Our room, and the overall stay, was exactly what was advertised, and what we expected. We stayed at the coast for three nights for our Anniversary and we really enjoyed ourselves. The room was cozy, other guests were not an issue or obnoxious. Everything was really comfortable. This was our first stay at the lodge, but will most definitely not be our last!

This motel room was clean, comfy and the location was great for our one night stay on the OR coast as we made our way home to CA. You can walk along the 101 hwy to any restaurant or shop and have the most magnificent view of the Pacific.

This lodge worked well for us on a last minute booking. Wish we saw whales! We felt safe and facility was well kept.

The pictures of this place are amazing. It looks clean and bright. The place was very clean, bed and bathmats were soft and comfortable. However, the pictures make this place look a lot bigger. It's also listed on Airbnb and that was confusing once I arrived because it looks like an inn... The room and shower were very tiny and there was not a lot of room to move around. This was disappointing. The rest of the things were great. The toiletries were very nice and not cheap and the pillows were sublime. The bed was super comfortable! We rested well. I would probably stay here again despite the tiny size of the space.

Wonderful surprise. What the place lacks in size it makes up for it in amenities. Lovely soaps, toothbrushes, razors and shaving cream. The bed was AMAZING!!! Keurig coffee, wine glasses, fridge, microwave. Very compact place that we extremely comfortable and clean!

Had a nice little stay here at Bill's place. Location was perfect and the communication was great. I had a little trouble with the lockpad when I arrived bit it was fixed very quickly. The place had a very homy feel to it and was fairly clean. It's a nice spot for an overnight if you're just passing through town.

What a charming spot. Would love to check out one of the detached cottages, but I was in the center of a row of rooms and didn't hear a peep from my neighbors. Enjoyed a great nights sleep with only the sound of a distant fog horn. Lots of thoughtful touches like toothbrushes and toiletries. Felt like I stepped back in time, and enjoyed it.
